Well, looking at the specs, it says 4 gb. Maybe when you had 6 it may seem better when it was still really 4. Or possibly that 2 gb from each one was used for dual channel memory, and the last 2 were left out. That’s probably why it felt better. Having two 4gb sticks for 8 gb of ram would probably just limit it to 2x2.
Either;
1. it will boot, and recognized the 8GB
2. it will boot and recognized from 4gb-8gb
3. it will not boot.
in this case only use 1x4GB and try to boot again.

it booted with 8 gigs and all memory is usable but thanks anyway
