Can upgrading ram increase performance in certain games??

Hello guys. I want to ask a one question.
I'm interesed in upgrading RAM memory.. Currently i'm running with just 4 GB. And while playing certain games like GTA V, ram goes up to 90-95 %, and I expirience a fps drop(stuttering) in certain places (large areas.) . Would ram upgrade solve this? 4 GB to 8GB.

Yes, Increasing ram will decrease the need for "paging", where code is swapped to disk. 8GB of ram is considered a minimum in today's world.

I'm surprised GTA V even runs on a system with 4GB of RAM. The game maker states 8GB is the minimum.

For a long time almost all games would run happily inside 8GB of RAM. Newer AAA titles are demanding even more. If you were building a mid-range gaming rig today, you would start with 16 GB.

What does the rest of your system look like? and what is your OS? 32-bit? 64-bit?
