Solution USAFRet Feb 16, 2018 mrsmile : if the SATA bridge is built into the drive PCB, you wouldn't be able to turn it into an internal HDD right? also wouldn't the lack of cooling fan on portable 2.5" hard drive make overheating a potential problem? Correct...the PCB would be looking for a USB style connection. And the cooling? Not an issue...the "drive" is literally just a regular drive, just in an external case. I have a couple externals with no fan at all.
