Is the ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming Motherboard compatible with the AMD FX-8300 8-Core Black Edition Vishera Processor ?

I may be too late in asking this, but I just ordered the ASRock Fatality AB350 Motherboard,
and also the AMD FX-8300 8-core processor....
and now I'm worried that I should have checked 1st... :/

Yeah, you made a mistake. The FX CPU is not compatible with that motherboard. You need a Ryzen CPU with that motherboard. You also need DDR4 memory. I would not recommend keeping the CPU and sending back the motherboard. It will be much better to keep the motherboard and get a Ryzen and new RAM. The FX CPUs are old and tired.

What if I just keep the AMD Anthlon 2 CPU ? will that work on the
ASRock Motherboard ?

no, they have different socket, means that they will not fit
forcing it will bent the pins

Athlon II cpu is FM2+ , by all means it still different socket

if you have tight budget, RMA the asrock mobo, get an AM3+ mobo with ddr3 RAM
or, with fairly high budget, RMA the cpu and get ryzen

FX processor wont fit and wont work in a b350 board. Your best bet, if you are on budget and dont have a gpu order a ryzen ridge 2400 cpu instead of the fx processor and ddr4 ram.

B350 Motherboards and X370 are made with the socket AM4 compatible with Ryzen and DDR4 ram.

The Fx processor is am3+ , compatible with only the am3+ socket and ddr3 ram.
