Both have been affected by Meltdown and Spectre. Choose whichever side. Intel is better Single Core performance while Ryzen is for more CPU intensive tasks, so if you are doing heavy CPU stuff go Ryzen.

Meltdown and Spectre will be fixed and patches have started rolling, it'll take some time.

If you mean in-silicon fixes, it looks increasingly likely that Cannon Lake will turn into another Broadwell (paper launch with no meaningful retail availability) and that would make Ice Lake in 2019 the most likely first mass-produced chip on Intel's side to have baked-in fixes.
