Minecraft low fps on good computer

Hey so my minecraft is running under 60 fps even though I have an i7-7700k and I have a gtx 1060 with settings maxed out, no it isn't any problems with the settings as I had them all like this ever since I got this computer and for some reason I haven't had this issue back then but now I do

What is your render distance set to? If it's set too high, your computer will load in a lot of area around you causing it to run slower. If this seems to be the case lower it to maybe 16 chunks or so and see how the game runs.

Like I said, this isn't the case, I turned it down to 2 chunks and it didn't change at all. It seems to be locked at 20 fps

I think I might have figured out the problem, the newest version of NVidia (390.77) seems to have a framerate lock for some odd reason, I reinstalled a older version and it's at 500 fps+ again

Nevermind, I think the reason why it was running slow was because since all of the NVidia updates I've had, it might have conflicted with one another and I did a fresh install and now everything is perfectly fine
