Hi there,
I am currently looking to build a pc for both general use (internet, office, latex, ecc.) as well as photo and video editing.
I'll use photoshop for photoediting and, most likely, Adobe Premiere for video editing.

I have tried to gather information both on the internet and through vendors, but I am a little confused both on the CPU and on the GPU site.

CPU:
- is it worth investing the extra money for the ryzen 7 1700, or is the difference minimal (I won't be doing any real gaming)?
- the intel i7- 1700 goes for the same price as the ryzen 7, however ryzen 7, I read, should outperform the i7, is this correct?

GPU:
I have been told that with a Ryzen CPU it's better to associate a Radeon GPU than a Nvidia. However, I have read that Radeon GPU might not work as well with Adobe premiere as Nvidia does. What is the best option here?

Last question, would 8 GB be enough to do video editing, or is it best I put in 16 GB right away?

Thank you very much in advance for the answers!

All the best

Unless you are in need of new PC and it is important to continue your work I would recommend you to hold down the plan of new PC for some time as Memory and GPU prices are extremely high. There is good possibility of it going down in few months I would recommend you to wait.

Unfortunately my current computer broke down and as it is I had to resurrect an old laptop to at least continue working.
Any suggestions vis-a-vis the different CPUs and GPUs?

Thanks!

Get this for time being and in 2-3months NVIDIA New lineup will most-probably launch get that and also add in 8GB more in future. I would recommend keep on adding more budget to it and get a decent GPU in 2-3months. That i7-8700K is near to R7-1700 in performance for Video editing and is far ahead in Photo editing. This PC can handle most of your requirements even without GPU but the video editing process will be it slow.

Thanks, it might indeed be a good idea to wait for the GPU and the extra RAM for the prices to go down.
From your list I infer you prefer the intel over the (cheaper) ryzen?
