Solution das_stig Feb 17, 2018 Use manufacturers own diagnostics, if your were having issues even removing partitions, the disk is junk.

Testdisk points on 255 cylinders per count and suggest change of geometry to 128 per count Bad sectors is my wild guess. Problem is disk used to be GPT and EFI partition appears when testdisk suggests restore. Upvote 0 Downvote
