How would the ryzen 3 compare to an i7 3770 running at 4.1ghz? Want to know if its an "Upgrade" , i only play video games. Also GPU will be a GTX 970

Not much of an upgrade at all, it certainly wouldn't be worth the money of a new CPU, mobo, and DDR4 RAM.
The i7 3770 is better when it comes to multi thread performance and only slightly worse when it comes to single thread performance. For gaming I doubt you would notice any difference at all especially with a 970.
