Hi all,

I'm not sure if you guys help with this sort of thing but recently my task manager has had an error

https://gyazo.com/34bfd73b66d92082fa26c211f8d0c0b4

I read a few forums that say its a virus so i did a scan both normally and in safe mode and neither fixed the issue.
I saw a video about toggling and option in gpedit, i tried that and nothing.

The odd thing is i can open task manger when i first boot up my pc but after a while (not sure how long exactly but over 2 hours) it will close itself.
Also, im not sure if this is related but it seems none of my changes stay after a reboot, for instance i keep having to change the size of a window every time i open it.

I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what is causing this but i cannot seem to figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Chris.

Solution
If your task manager is disabled it is almost always because malware changed permissions to block you from using it, or it is actively blocking you from using it. If you have a rootkit, it can hide itself from an anti-malware program even in safe mode or stop your antimalware from detecting anything.

What I recommend you first do is make sure you don't have malware, because you possibly do. Download trojan remover from https://www.simplysup.com. It's free for 30 days. If you can't get it up and running in normal Windows, try safe mode. This tool can also detect malicious changes to your PC like hosts file change. Let it scan everything.
