Hello,
I've recently had this problem trying to get my USB microphone to work with my setup. My computer uses USB speakers for sound playback. I've narrowed down the cause of the problem to be The USB speakers.
Basically, when the speakers are plugged in, the microphone can't pick up my voice, but when they're not plugged in, the microphone works perfectly and picks up audio. But obviously I'd like to get them working at the same time. I've tried messing around in the windows sound menu for a while and nothing seems to work.
The USB speakers are Bose Companion 5 USB speakers, and the Microphone is a M-Audio Uber Mic. Any help you can give on this issue is appreciated. Thanks.
