Time for a new computer!

Hello!

Last time I asked this question I ended up going with Digital Storm and getting a Vanquish. It has served me very well, but this time I want to do it myself as a fun project.

I already have 2 Samsung 1 TB SSD drives that I'll be using.

I just need some help on picking a good tower and cpu + memory.

I also want to go with 2 GPU's, but start off with one. I have been mining crypto on the side for funsies and it has actually been making me some money. I want to have a configure where I can go with a single GPU and later add another if I want to.

I like playing videos games so it will be getting used for multiple things.

I would like to get a PSU that will handle all that and all the cooling you guys recommend to keep temps down.

Thank you very much!

I'd check back about 2 weeks prior to purchase as a lot can change for recommendations in 2-3 months, especially if newer GPU's are released.

As of now though considering you want to use multiple GPU's and you have a large SSD storage I'd probably go with something like this.

GPU wise I'd look at a 1070 ti or better (for now) for 4K.

Thank you for the response.

I meant to change the time frame. I'm going to start purchasing pieces immediately. I don't mind getting last years hardware for a good price.

I'm currently looking at the 1080 GTX. I see they have a bunch of different ones out. I have been looking at the Titan models? They are pricey!

Yea those Titan models are really overpriced, a 1080 or ti variant would work well for gaming. The problem is the pricing right now is outrageous so if you can wait I'd recommend doing so. Or at the very least signing up for a auto-notify to get one (1080 ti) around $800 which is somewhat reasonable.

Thanks again for the help my friend!

I think I will sit tight for a bit. I will get the CPU and other stuff now. I do have a 1060 I can put in there until I get a 1080.

Do you really think that water cooling unit is needed for the CPU? I haven't looked in a long time, but they used to be problematic with leakage and things of that nature. They are much better now?

The 1060 will work good for now, as for the cooler there much better then they used to be however if you'd prefer not to then grab a higher end Cryorig or be quiet Dark Rock 3 (or Pro), just make sure there's enough clearance over the RAM.

The 8700K runs warm so you'll want a good cooler.
