Will this CPU heatsink and fan physically obstruct the very first PCIe 1x slot on an LGA 1151/coffee lake motherboard?

What about the RAM clearance?

It won't, could you send the motherboard just incase to make sure, the cooler is big, but it isn't long just wide, it could obstruct the ram, my suggestion for that just move the ram to the furtherest slots.

Yup! If it's an atx board it shouldn't obstruct anything besides ram, that cooler is only slightly wider and longer than your stock cooler size, it won't obstruct the pci slots unless you have a micro-atx board etc, if it was designed like that no one would buy it?

Install it wrong by 90 degrees and you can block all the stuff you may ore may not wanted to block.

You need to know the motherboard.
Some will have an X1 slot closest to the cooler, others more distant.
I might suggest looking at the Noctua TDP guidelines and web site. They have detailed compatibility info for most motherboards.
The NH-D15s will be just as effective and will cost a bit less.

My motherboard is an Asrock Fatal1ity Gaming K6 Z370

I have 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz RAM

Do you think the cooler I linked do is roughly comparable to the Cryorig R1 Ultimate and Noctua NH D15?

The only reason why I'm timid about the R1 Ultimate and Noctua NH-D15 is their enormous size and the fact that they block the RAM and PCIe slots.

If you mount the cooler the right way, i.e 1 fan on the left side of case and the right fan on the other side of case ( the logo is the right side-up ) it won't be a problem, you see the amd / slr logo on your motherboard below the cpu, thats roughly where the cooler's will be extended too, won't go past that area so you have plenty of clearance for the pci slots

The NH-D15s is a redesigned version of the NH-D15. It is a tad smaller, but the important thing is that with the s variants, there is no clearance issue with tall ram heat spreaders.
A lesser known issue is that backplates on some graphics cards mounted in the first pcie x16 slot may interfere with some coolers. The s variants are offset to avoid that particular issue.
I checked, your motherboard has no compatibility issues with the NH-D15s.

Essentially the same performance as the predecessors.
The NH-D15s comes with one fan while the NH-D15 came with two.
In tests I have seen, one or two fans makes no difference, but of course one could add a second fan to the s.
