Hey guys,

So basically, I have these headphones with a mic on them and I wanna use them to record audio.

I connected the headphones to the audio port and I can hear the audio from my computer but no audio is being recorded from my Microphone. (note: I want to listen through the head phones and record audio through them too.) (also, I use the default Realtek HD audio manager)

Also when I connect my headphones to the microphone port on the front and back panel they don't record audio or sound like they are working.

Is there any way for me to be able to make my mic work on my pc while also listening to something through the headphones?

Solution
Windows can, but the specific computer hardware you have can't.
Laptops have a "headset port" that can accept those single plug devices, but normal desktop sound controllers don't.
The microphone is like a secondary function, so it doesn't get picked up, even if you plug it into the microphone port on the motherboard.(usually colored pink) (though in theory you "can" use speakers as a microphone, but you can't hear anything the pickup clearly, but they can somehow pickup that sound is hitting them)

A splitter like this "might" work: (I can't 100% guarantee)

Are they single plug or dual plug headphones?
Desktop computers only work with dual plug headphones, or USB headphones.

Realtek drivers also have a setting to mute front/back panel audio devices when one or the other is plugged in, so you'll have to check that setting.

You also have to set your default audio devices in Windows Sound options by right clicking the speaker/volume icon on the task bar.

They are apple headphones with a mic on it, so single plug. I have my speakers as my output right now, so can't I just have my normal speakers as output and plug my headphones into the microphone jack? ...and it still doesn't work.
so is it just that my mic in jack on the back and front are broken or windows cant take record audio from these headphones?
