Hello,

I currently have 1 pc. Crucial 8 Gb 2400 CL17 (p/n: CT8G4DFS824A) for my Z370 i5 8400 build. I would like to upgrade and I only have 3 options.

As of now I only trust Corsair and Kingston. Here is the memory compatibility list fro Gigabyte: http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_z370-hd3.pdf

1. Buy a second stick of p/n: CT8G4DFS824A RAM. - $85
2. Sell first stick, buy Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 Gb (4x4) 2133 CL13 (p/n: CMK16GX4M4A2133C13) - $163 ($86 if I get to sell the first one for $76)
3. Wait it out for RAM prices to drop

I'm well aware that my 2400 stick is CL17, but oh well. I don't know if 2133 CL13 will be any better, since latency wise it's pretty good but 2133 just sounds pretty bad to me.

What do you guys think?

I think you need to do a little of both 2 and 3. Sell the first stick if you can. Then keep an eye out for cheaper memory. I just took a look and damn memory prices have gone up since I bought mine several months ago. Look for daily deals on Newegg or other sites. When you do buy memory go for 2x8GB instead of 4x4GB. I looked on Newegg just now and it showed 2x8 G.Skill Ripjaw 2800, for $166. Those daily deals might just save you. Give it a week or so and keep checking back each day. They do memory there frequently.

Hey guys, I went out and bought the Corsair CMK16GX4M4A2133C13 Kit haha. It's amazing. With the previous kit I'd only reach an average of 75 FPS in Battlefield 1 64 player multiplayer, with constant dips to 50 FPS. With this kit (even though I was afraid 2133 was too slow), I now get an average of 85-90 FPS, with nothing below 70 FPS. I think the 2133 MHz was offset by the fact that its timings were 13-15-15-28
