Turned my pc off. In the morning I noticed I left a usb storage stick attached, turned the pc on and now it's stuck on the gigabyte splash screen. I removed everything attached to usb inputs except for the keyboard. I only have the option to click f9 and f12 for a few seconds before screen and keyboard turn off and then back to the same screen.

Solution
make from another pc a new windows iso boot usb stick. boot and run some of the diskpart tool see if the mbr or one of the system folders is damgeded or missing. also on another usb stick make a virus recovery disk from one of the big anti virus sellers and scan for a virus.

I did all this:

To clear the CMOS I would recommend popping the battery out and leaving it a minute. I would switch the PSU off and then hold the power button in to clear any residual power before re-inserting the battery, switching PSU back on and then re-booting. If this doesn't work then a BIOS update may be in order. This is not the potential game breaker that it once was if it goes wrong but is something that should only be done when necessary. In order to get your BIOS version however you would either need to get into the BIOS or Windows so if the CMOS clear does not work then you may have to put your old card back in temporarily just to get through this process. Try that and then come back if it doesn't work and someone can walk you through it. You will require the latest BIOS from the Gigabyte website and a spare memory stick.

try putting the usb back in the same usb socket. then reboot a couple of times.
your dma sequence may have tried to add it to the hardware list and not it cant find it, it gets stuck...

or if you can go into bios/eufi and change the drive boot order and remove any reference to boot usb devices from the drive seek/boot order list.

So when I press f12 it says "please select boot device" here's the list:

PATA SM:
INTEL SSDPEKKW256G7
P1: WDC WD1OEZEX-22MFCA0
WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER
ENTER SETUP

When I click on either intel or the P1:WDC drives I get this message:

reboot and select proper boot device
insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

Windows boot manager does nothing it just returns me to the same splash window.

If the OS is on your SSD then configure Bios priority for the SSD.
Any other drives last in the boot order.
If OS is also on the HDD then disconnect it for now to try.

I disconnected the HDD and set the SSD as priority and I get this message:
- reboot and select proper boot device insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.
Did the same for the SSD

I had to do a clean reinstall of Windows 10. Which worked but now only my SSD is displayed under devices and drives. My HDD is missing.
