I'm not the greatest when picking out parts so any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated, and we will most likely go to microcenter for some/most parts.

Would you be able to state what your friend is currently working with? Would help in gauging if he's getting his money's worth.

But if you remove the aftermarket cooler you've got a nice backbone to drop in a higher spec'd GPU if and when GPU prices drop.

I'm liking your suggestion more. Addition of the m.2 is great, didn't even think of it at the time. I was also thinking a 1050ti but wasn't to sure thats why I put the 3gb 1060 in there. I'm hoping GPUs will drop soon. But we will see.

Thanks again Lutfij.
