Hi guys

I just purchased 2x8gb DDR3 Corsair vengeance ram, and my pc isn’t recognising it’s in there. I have 4x2gb ram at the moment that came with the pc, first I tried the two Corsairs in the 3rd and 4th slot with the 2x2gb sticks in the 1st and 2nd, my pc turned on but only recognised I had 4gb of ram. So I tried just the 2x8gb sticks in the 1st and 2nd slot and left the other slots open, this time when I powered on my pc it made a beeping noise, and then turned itself off. I also tried filling the 3rd and 4th slot with 2x2gb sticks but the same thing happened

Not sure if it helps also but I purchased this pc around 5 years ago

Not sure what I’m doing wrong

You should be populating the slots on your board, equally. If you want to populate all 4 slots then they should all be of the same make and model, preferably found in a kit. Mixing and matching rams will result in issues like this.

Have you made sure you're on the latest motherboard BIOS? Can you pass on a link to your existing ram kit and the ram kit you purchased?
