Possible Faulty/Dying Keyboard or MoBo Issue

Hello Everyone,

I have recently plugged in a dual-shock 4 controller to my PC via USB. At first windows did not recognise it and it requested me to restart windows in order to install it. As soon as I restarted the PC both my keyboard and mouse would turn off after the login screen. At first I had no problem using the keyboard during the BIOS, and I ended up running a windows recovery because I thought the drivers were causing the problem.

The recovery turned out to be only partially useful, my mouse is now working properly but the keyboard is not. The keyboard stopped working from the back panel altogether and now only works if I connect it to the front USB panel, which is really annoying. What's strange is that it now stopped working even during BIOS, it only works if connected to the front panel. All the other USB devices still work without any problem. (Mouse, xbox controller, ps4 controller, hdd)

I have tried reinstalling the root usb drivers as well as the hid keyboard ones but to no success...

Do you think this whole problem was created by a dying keyboard; drivers (although I would now rule them out since it's not working during BIOS either) or is it more likely to be a computer hardware related problem, like the MoBo?

Most importantly, can a faulty keyboard make windows 10 completely disable all the USB ports?

Edit:
I forgot to mention that I recently had to format the pc and reinstall windows because of continuos memory management bsod(s). This certainly adds to the mobo failing if it wasn't that the problem hasn't yet appeared again...

Also I tried connecting the same keyboard to my laptop and it only works with the usb 2.0 too. It's really strange because it used to work with the 3.0 of my mobo...

Solution
The problem may be your USB devices having IRQ (Interrupt ReQuest) conflicts. Adding the DualShock 4 controller may have displaced the keyboard and mouse.

I see, I think you might be onto something but I am not completely sure it was caused by the dualshock 4. I neglected one little thing I did before the problems started happening. I reconfigured one of my logitech mouse buttons to a ctrl+c macro, and that created a virtual keyboard. It didn't affect the keyboard at first but the problem appeared only after I restarted my PC. I realised a bit later that only my keyboard and mouse were affected by this; hdd, controller and everything else was working perfectly.

Anyway I ended up replacing the keyboard because it completely failed in both my pc and notebook and had to do a complete windows restore. Deleting all the drivers seems to have helped. I wonder if logitech's virtual keyboard was the cause of the problem... I replaced the PSU too as I thought it could have been power surge related. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the motherboard. I will never know what it was unless it happens again, fingers crossed it doesn't...
