Hello folks,

Looking to get some advice on the above topic, is it worth upgrading my CPU currently to the AMD FX 8350 or should i save up to buy another CPU? I currently play a lot of CSGO and Path of Exile but feel like my CPU is struggling. My current specs are

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L
CPU: AMD FX 4100
Ram: Corsair Vengence 8gb 1866mhz
GPU: GeForce 1050Ti 4gb
SSD: Samsung 850 evo 250gb
PSU: Corsair XC600M 600w

As i mostly play CSGO and Path of Exile i struggle on frame rates, particularly on FPS games where it averages between 100-150, 200 when idle. Looking for any advice on upgrading, my thinking was investing on a £100 CPU upgrade rather than upgrading everything which will cost a lot more.

Would welcome any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Your motherboard is probably not suited for a FX-8 depending on the M5A78L version you have.

Past that, what you get with a FX-8350 is more threads, but the capability of each thread is not much stronger than what you have with a FX-4100.

£210 will buy you a better gaming performance G4600 cpu, lga1151 motherboard, and 8gb of ddr4 ram.
You can go up from there .

Hi, thanks for the speedy reply, do you have any recommendations? I have been out of the pc scene for quite a while and not sure what is worth getting.
