Hi guys

Im making a small form factor PC specifically for LAN parties.
I have the case, PSU, cooling and GPU (1070)

Now is the dilemma: what about the CPU and RAM?

The RAM is easily swapped between main PC and LAN PC but its DDR3.
And my ideal plan is to update main PC CPU (currently 6600K) into Ryzen by years end so I was thinking of putting the 6600K in the LAN PC

Now is the trick, what CPU to get? It doesnt need to be high end and I was considering getting a G4560 but its ok if I need to spend a little more.
I also looked into the Ryzen 3 2200G but that would require buying DDR4

Sorry if its a bit unclear, it hardly makes sense in my own head lol

Solution
For a 200ish budget you will need to look at used. But I think you would get better performance than a budget chip. I would look at a i5-4690 and get a itx board to go with it. You should be able to get both of those for around 200 and still use your DDR3. I would rather have a 4690 than a G4560.
The G4560 is a great budget CPU, but it runs on DDR4 RAM unless you get a 1151 mobo that runs DDR3. I think Gigabyte makes one, but it will not be easy to find.

But if it were me and I was going to need DDR4 RAM, then I would go with the 2200G. It is a step up from the G4560 and will have more longevity.

Your post is all over the place. We need you to help us help you.

What are the specs of both your system's? List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:

I expect two sets of specs in order for us to gauge your routes+suggestions. We will also need a budget with which you can allot us to spend/suggest.

Didnt even look at a 1151 DDR3 ITX board but youre right, ASUS makes one (basically an ITX version of my main board) and its p much impossible to find... oh well :(

Was afraid of this. No simple/cheap solution :p
