Hi guys, trying to build a mining rig, so its just mother board, ram, SSD, , graphics cards, keyboard, mouse and display and power supply.

My question is after assembling everything, i wanted to power it up to see the setup before installing Windows, comes on, no display, my monitor is connected HDMI to the mother board HDMI, should it be to one of the cards instead ?

Also the LED for the SSD doesn't come on, is the placement of the SSD mandatory in a certain slot ? same with the ram.

Solution
If SSD is your Boot drive, then it should be on SATA port 1(cross-reference your manual).
You should ideally connect the display output to your GPU since you have a discrete GPU. If you didn't have a discrete GPU, then the cable should go on the board.
