I have the following set up, Internet ---> Verizon FiOS Router, G1100 "Quantium GW". I have cat 5 Ethernet from FiOS Router to Eidmax. I have 5G WiFi on both. Edimax set as AP as per Edimax instructions. I have had this set up since Dec 2015 but just recently noticed a problem when copying files. Wifi Analyzer says good signal, no interference, Edimax at low channel, FiOS at high channel. I have a Ethernet connected WD MyCloud NAS. When NAS connected to FiOS Router and I connect WiFi 5G on the FiOS Router, I get 60 MB/s from my Win10 copy. When I connect to the Edimax, 12 MB/s. When I connect the NAS to the Edimax, same 12 MB/s copy rate. I have tested with 2 laptops, same model, exactly same results. I have opened a ticket with Edimax....but thought I'd ask here as well.....

Here is a link to the Edimax manual: http://www.edimax.us/download/manual/BR-6208AC_User_Manual_English.pdf

Solution
If you mean 12M BYTE then you are getting the rate that is expected. The edimax device only has 100m ethernet ports. The verizon device has gigabit ports and in that case is likely be limited either by the nas or maybe the wireless signal.
