So i'm thinking about making my own diy computer table where i can put my hardware in the table like linus did here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyreJvig3KA my question is, is there a software which i can kind of lay out desk ideas and stuff in 3d? like a 3d blueprint? I would like it to be free if possible.

Blender is free and could do it, but has an extremely high learning curve from what I've heard.

Sketchup is about as easy as it gets, it's not specifically a CAD program but I think it's good for trying out ideas.

Sketchup is a generalized CAD/blueprint/modelling program (though it's better at CAD than the others), and the free version should suit your needs. Blender would also work, but is more modelling focused and getting consistent measurements across a project without an add-on is unpleasant.

That's not bad. How do you plan to vent things? Also, how big is it?
Edit: You need to do something about the leg room; trust me, it's important. I'm 6 feet tall and made sure the table thickness to my own custom desk was no more than 3 1/2 inches.
