Asus motherboards can't boot with single RAM stick. Is this a limitation ?

I have Asrock B250M Pro and RoG B250G motherboard that I bought recently, I also bought 2 X 4GB Bulldozer branded RAM. I found out if I just put one stick of the 4GB RAM, those motherboards won't boot, the fan will just run indefinitely but no signal to the monitor (my casing don't have speaker cable, so I can't hear the beep sound). But if I put the two memory sticks on them, they will boot successfully. I can confirm both of the memory sticks are not faulty.

I wonder if modern motherboards can only boot with two memory sticks (dual channel mode) ?

Hey, there is a good news, the A2 & B2 slot are working now.

Before that, I googled and found someone else having almost same issue with mine: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?59931-Potential-problem-with-RAM-slot

I worried I got bent pin issue, so I take off the cpu and checked the cpu socket pins, seems I can't find any bent pins there (there are very small, hard to see, so I'm not 100% sure too), then I put back the cpu again.

After that I put the RAM in A2 slot, and surprisingly it boots. I entered the bios, seems no issue there. Then I proceed with installing the second ram in B2 slot, and it boots without issue too.

So I'm not sure what happened, perhaps I didn't seat the CPU correctly or maybe there is very subtle...

Single RAM in B2 slot doesn't work too as I've tried.

The Rog B250G has 4 slots RAM: A1 A2 B1 B2. According to the manual, if there is only one RAM, it's recommended to put it in A2 slot. For two RAM, the recommendation is A2 & B2.

However in my case, the only set up that works is dual channel in A1 & A2. Everything else just don't work. With only A1 & A2 is working, the system will only run in single channel mode.

I wonder if the issue is the B250 type asus motherboard doesn't support 4 GB RAM, or perhaps it's RAM compatibility issue? As Bulldozer brand is not in the motherboard's memory qualified vendor list.

FYI the CPU is i5-6600 (non K) and the memory is DDR4 PC-19200. I also have updated the BIOS to latest version and resetting the CMOS too, but no avail.
