hey i have a gtx 970 my monitor supports VGA its 22" and its 1080p if i bought a VGA to HDMI converter will my screen look better and my games player better? cause in gta V it only lets me do 1366x768 on high settings nd only let me use 2gb of vram of my graphics card and mine is 4gb so will this converter make my screen look better? and paly games better? also my screen like a little dark at 100% brightness will it make it look lighter? please respond

Um... the monitor is VGA, the Card doesn't output VGA. I assumed the person from the OP was using the motherboard VGA and hoping the video card would somehow output graphics through that (which it doesn't). It's why I suggested a DVI-I to VGA adapter, to convert the 970's DVI-I output into a VGA output for the monitor.

You're at you limits of your old monitor. Using an HDMI cable with a VGA converter is not going to help. VGA is an old analog video signal standard that has lower resolution, video bandwidth and refresh rates. While DVI-D, HDMI and Displayport are digital video standards that are vastly superior to VGA. Unfortunately, the only way to improve your video is a new monitor.

are you sure about that hey my Monitor is a LG 22en33S B it is suppsdely 1080p are you sure a Converter isnt gonna help?

VGA is your only option on this crappy monitor. You need to configure windows to recognize it as a 1080p monitor, i.e. set resolution to 1920x1080. After that your games should allow you to do more than 1366x768. You do NOT need a converter. You need to get windows set up correctly.

The 970 does not have vga so what adapter are you using now? That would be the issue. If it is dvi-i to vga, changing to hdmi vs dvi isn't the actual cause. It will make no difference if the adapter actually worked as it should.

The vram issue is another and possibly the same issue. Another theory is you aren't using an adapter and whatever you plugged it into, possibly the igpu, is the cause.

ohh thank you for clarifying well the techician guy sayed that with VGA im only using Intergrated graphics card and if the i get the Converter and it actually works ill use my onboard graphics card Gtx 970 is a HDMI only card
