Can I use different mounting legs on a cpu cooler?

Hello, I have recently purchased an ASUS Lion Square CPU cooler, which unfortunately didn’t come with a backplate or mounting legs. So, my question is if I can swap mounting legs for another cooler’s mounting legs and backplate. Will this work? Is there any you recommend? Also, my main concern is if it can support the weight of the cooler, as the Lion Square is pretty large and bulky. Are there any alternatives as well? Thanks.

In theory you can use any backplate for that socket but if there's no upper part to match it and fasten cooler on it, I'm afraid you are in for some fabrication.

As long as both coolers support the socket you can swap the backplate. Weight is another concern, but better use a backplate from another cooler than none at all.
You can buy backplates separately on ebay.

Judging by pictures, those coolers also need brackets/adapters for cooler side to match socket and backplate. Those coolers come with Asus brand computers and not as separate, aftermarket cooler.
