Recently, when I woke up I found that my PC was not turning on when I pressed the Power button on my case. Therefore, I pressed the start button on the mother board. No luck. However, the PC then randomly turned on and said: "Overclocking failure, please reconfigure BIOS" then turned off.

1. I have not overclocked my i7-4790k on my Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard.
2. I have already cleared cmos and nothing has happened.
3. I can't reconfigure bios (already resetted though) because I can't get the computer on.

However, while on my laptop trying to find answers. After I press the start button on the motherboard, I noticed a constant ticking noise coming from my power supply (Corsair AX 760). I have had the computer for 3 years. Any suggestions to what I should do? Thanks.

1| When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

2| From the way you've outlined it, vague as it may be, it's possible to verify the culprit by bringing in a donor PSU of the same wattage and quality and connecting to the system while breadboarded.

Sorry about that.

CPU: i7-4790k
Motherboard: Asus Maximus Hero VII
Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance
SSD/HDD: samsung 256 gb ssd + a 1tb hitachi hdd
GPU: MSI Twin Frozr gtx970
PSU: ax760 corsair
Chassis: corsair 750d
OS: windows 10

I don't have another PSU that I would be able to use. The ticking noise seems to be coming from the inside of the power supply. I have tried using a screwdriver and manually starting the computer but it doesn't seem to work.

I just read what breadboarding is and I will most definitely do that. I will tell you the beeps that are given. Thanks for your help.
