HDDs keep failing in my Dell inspiron 15 7000 7559

Bought this laptop a little over a year ago, so warranty isn't an option. It was fantastic for the first year, but of course that changed. The laptop came with a SeaGate firecuda SSHD originally. Seemed like after an instance where the laptop tipped off my lap and onto my bed... (not an actual drop of more than 1ft) it started having an intermittent clicking sound which I determined was coming from the hard drive. SeaGate nor Dell wanted anything to do with it, but I ran the SeaGate disk checker anyway. Everything came back normal, and a few responses told me some clicking was normal as it was not the death click or anything that severe.

Months passed and the clicking became worse. Instead of once per 35-60 seconds, it was maybe a few more than that. I started to get audible audio stutter too when I'd play a game or watch a video. So I cloned my SSHD to a standard HDD as a temporary back up plan until I could get a new SSHD/SSD to replace this one, as it seemed its fate was sealed. Well a week or less after having this (new to this machine, as it's from an older laptop and still a SeaGate from SamSung) I'm hearing the same click. It's more intermittent than the last drive, but I've even had bits of audio stutter already with it. I doubt both drives... even though they're SeaGates are defective.

I plan to switch up to a 1TB SSD 840, or 850 soon, but is there a deeper root for these issues maybe? Virus scans like malwarebytes come up negative, so I'm thinking there might be some sort of issue with the PSU, or maybe it's just dumb luck?

Solution
Seagate laptop drives do NOT like heat or being bumped.

My Dell Studio roasted Seagate SSHDs as well. The original Toshiba in it lasted 3+ years.

Put a SSD in it and don't look back.

Thanks for the tips, fellas. Should I monitor the PSU just in case, or do we suppose it's a non-issue?

I really don't want to swap HDDs every year or so, even though WD and other suppliers are ranked much higher. The 1TB SSD is obviously my course for a permanent fix. My only issue is if there's a PSU problem, would it affect the SSD just as negatively if left unchecked?

Never carried it far. If I take it with me, it's completely asleep, and placed in a carry bag.

I really want to avoid spindle and mechanical drives if I can, the cons outweigh the pros at this point, and storing data on this platform that has the potential to get bumped, or jostled from time to time with intense heat doesn't seem like the best course of action. I liked the speed of the firecuda drive, but they're nearly as expensive as 840/850 EVO 1TB drives now, and I'm not putting myself into another situation like this if I can help it.
