So a couple of weeks ago I toasted my motherboard, I had the cpu 8pin
cable plugged in with some tension from the cable and ended up toasting the connectors and killing the mobo... Rookie mistake...
Now I have a new mobo and my 8pin psu cable has the conector a little bit burnt on 4 out out of 8 contacts , but still makes good contact and I can boot... Should I RMA the psu? They told me it was just the appearance but that I could try and rma it... My fear Is being a month without a psu and that they tell me they charge me for the repairs as it's not covered... It's a enermax revolution x't ii 750w
What do you guys think?

Plastic is there to keep the connector in place and electrically isolate the pins. If the rest of what you have does so, they will claim it is functional. Also they may state that the damage was done by not intended use and refuse the RMA. Best way to find out is starting the process and asking for the shipping times.
If your PSU is modular you can also buy new cables.

Can't take a picture but there is 1 or 2 mm of plastic that is there no more in 4 connectors, and a bit blacked those 4 connections, for the rest, it's normal
