I have a Acer Vertion M460 that I want to speed up. I have a GT 730 1GB GDDR5 and a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.6GHz. The problem is the power supply in it is rated around 250w. Will that power supply handle running these components?

It depends on the specs found on the PSU's nameplate. But I suspect you will be fine with the GT 730 if it is the DDR5/64 bit model. Also look into the GT 1030 for a bit better performance.
If you can, post a pic of the nameplate. Or list the +12V ratings (amps/watts)

Here it is, I was looking at the GT 1030's but they are so expensive for how they preform, I got the GT 730 on sale for $39.

Okay, thank you, sorry the pictures wouldn't work. The brand of the PSU is Liteon, The Model number is PS-5251-7 for your reference.

Is this the nameplate on it?
Pay attention to the +12v === 15A at the top of the nameplate. If that is what you see, the GT 730 64bit DDR5 or DDR3 the very most the PSU can handle. That PSU has a very small +12V rail.

Okay, so would you recommend not using it? I don't know what power supply to get. that picture you have linked is the same name plate on the PSU. Would 300-400 work?

I personally would not have an issue using the GT 730 with your original PSU. But of course, upgrading to a better PSU is always recommended. That Apevia PSU apparently has the specs to support the GT 730. But Apevia has always been an "iffy" brand. Not very good quality. However, I can't say for sure about that particular model. But any 450W PSU for $22 would be suspect.

Okay Thank you, would I be able to run a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.6GHz with the gt 730? or is that too much for the original PSU.

Yes, thank you for the help. I got the GT 730 in the mail yesterday and it works like a dream.
