Tech Noob Needs Help Building PC for LOL: $900-$1200 budget

Can someone help me build a pc?

I play league of legends and am looking to spend $900-$1200 on a computer, monitor, and keyboard. My friend told me I'd also need an SSD. I don't know shit about computers, but am tired of playing on 20-60 fps...so I figured it was time to give up my old mac laptop for something more up to date.

I know graphics cards are pretty pricey right now, but is my budget reasonable to get a computer that can consistently run 150+ FPS with good graphics? Not sure if this matters but I don't see myself playing much more than league and fortnight.

Appreciate any help!

Any specifics you want? (Resolution, Max settings etc)? I doubt you'll NEED an SSD, I personally am just fine with my 7200RPM HDD drive, but you can also have like an SSD for the stuff you want to access quickly and also an HDD for the other stuff.

I don't really have specifics, I play on low settings right now but will probably want to play on medium high or better. And not sure about resolution. The most important thing to me is that these components last 4+ years. I don't want to have to keep switching things out which is why I'm willing to spend a bit more than your avg casual gamer

Thanks! My friend suggest I get a better CPU, but said everything else there is great for the $$. Any suggestions on a slightly better CPU?

Right now the GTX 1050 is the only gpu within $50 of its msrp. The ryzen 5 1600 is the price to performance king right now. If you are sketchy about building your own tower, you can buy a pre-built and install your own graphics card.

LoL isn't the highest demanding game so for that budget you could probably go pretty big. You could get a machine for probably < 400 dollars that could run it at 1080p with 100fps +

When doing this i kept in mind room for upgrades, so if you need it and have the money you will be able to easily add in more ram, or upgrade to an i7 8700k etc... Monitor + keyboard and mouse is more personal preference but this build should be good for some time.
