PC 'Locking Up'

Hello,
I've asked about this issue in many forums so I hope today you guys can help me!
Every so often, about once a day my pc completely freezes and locks up. Everything freezes, mouse included and sound completely stops. There is no blue screen however just everything freezes in place, making this hard to debug.
My Specs are:
CPU - AMD FX 8350
MOBO: Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0
Graphics Card: Asus GTX 1060 OC 6GB
RAM: 16GB HyperX
Current power supply: EVGA 550W
2 HDDs, 2 SSDs

The only thing I changed recently was the PSU, I upgraded a 5 year old Aerocool 750W powersupply with a new Aerocool Integrator power supply. However this is roughly when the issues started happening and so I've swapped out this power supply for an EVGA one that I found around the house, which I believe can handle the load however this hasn't fixed my issues.
Look forward to your replies!
Really hope I can fix this issue!

CPU at idle sites around 30 degrees celcius and under high loads can get to around 70. Pretty sure it isn't due to overheating. Around a month ago when the issue started I ran a mem test all the way through and found no memory issues. However this issue seems to be happening to a friend too with the same CPU.

Thats only when gaming for a while however this isn't when the crashes happen, the crashes can be on boot or after many hours. Usually not coinciding with heat. Also wouldn't heat shut down the system?
