Describe your problem. List any error messages and symptoms. Be descriptive.
Was playing WoW last night and I heard a noticeably loud "POP" from inside my case. Peering in through the glass, I noticed an orangish, almost sequential glow on my motherboard right beneath my RAM/right above my GPU on the right side (but still on the board itself). Between the initial "POP" and my immediate reaction to cut the PSU power, probably only 5 seconds elapsed. During those 5 seconds, the system ran normally (didn't shut off or do anything else weird). No smoke. No smell. No burn marks on motherboard.

List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.
Inspected motherboard — no marks or smell. PSU appeared fine too. Haven't taken it out, but from what I can see with a flashlight, it looks normal. I have not tried turning my PC back on (all the fears).

Post relevant photos of build/parts here.
Will post if needed. Everything appears normal thus far.

Provide any additional details you wish below.
A little background, I've just recently replaced my MOBO with the same mobo. The first one very randomly came down with this weird issue where none of my USBs were working. Troubleshooted for weeks, but to no avail. Replaced the motherboard and it fixed it. I assume (but really have no idea) that something shorted. That being said, now my eyes are on my PSU as the problem child.
PSU is still under a 5-year warranty with Corsair. And this new mobo is still under 30 days old and returnable (through Amazon). Do I RMA one and return the other? Turn on the PC again and see if it was all a fluke? I'm pretty experienced with PCs/building but I've never troubleshooted sparks/firehazards/etc. What advice can y'all offer me??

So you saw a glow on the motherboard, but now you see no marks on anything at all? This sounds pretty odd.

If it were me, I'd have to fire it up again and see what's going on because this will give you more information no matter what happens....but that's just me. It's up to you.
