So I'm thinking of upgrading my Ryzen CPU to an I5 8400 this is because my ram isn't compatible with it, so before I buy it I just wanted to ask people who know stuff about computers if the ram would be compatible with the i5 8400.

You should ask if the RAM is compatible with certain motherboard, not with CPU. But anyway, Intel chips are much more forgiving then Ryzen on RAM, so it should work fine with any z370 board.

I would think so. Intel DDR4 boards and CPUs have been around for a long while, pretty much what that memory was made for.

I don't think it wouldn't be compatible with Ryzen either. Worst case a manual setup at DDR4 2400 ought to work. But if these are recent purchases, why not return them? (Or did you get a really good deal on the memory?)
