First post and first build.
I am building a gaming/video-editing PC. Mostly for gaming, but I would like for it to be capable of some decent video-editing as well. I don't necessarily plan on OCing (because I haven't really determined if it's something I even want to do), but I wanted to be able to.
The only pieces out of this list I currently already have are the case and the PSU. I haven't purchased anything else.
This is a project to build a gaming/stream-ready PC between my buddy and I. We don't have unlimited funding, but we're splitting the cost of the whole thing and I think the current cost of this list (just what's in the case) meets my budget.
I know monitors/keyboard/mouse/Windows and whatever else I haven't listed are additional costs, I'm just talking about what's in the case as far as any fitment issues and what others have experienced with similar rigs. I want to know if everything on this parts list will fit into the Corsair Crystal 460X mid-tower case that I already have or if I should return the case and get a bigger one. I don't think I need a full-sized case, but again this is my first build so I'll leave the expert answers to you guys.
I could also use some guidance on the GPU. I know with BC mining, prices are outrageous and I've seen tons of sites recommending to either wait, bite the bullet and buy what you want at the higher cost or buy a console. I'd like to actually build a computer and not buy another console, so would you have any suggestions on cheaper GPUs that I can buy in order to tie me over until this BC mining craze dies down a little? Is the used market for GPUs big? I want a decent (read: doesn't have to be amazing but can comfortably game 1080p and 60fps) GPU so that I can game while waiting for the prices to go down on what I actually want.
Anything else you guys see that you want to point out, feel free. I'm open to any suggestions/recommendations/horror stories. Thank you in advance!
In case you need it, examples of games I play: Monster Hunter World, Fortnite, any FPS/shooter, Assassin's Creed, driving games, etc.
