Hey guys my current build goes as follows

CPU: I5-3570K @4.2 GHz 1.130v
GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7970 OC Edition
Memory: 2x4GB Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600MHz
Storage: 1tb WD Black HDD
CPU Cooler: hyper 212 EVO w Noctua fan
Case: CM Storm Scout 2 White Fans: 2x Cooler Master stock 120mm fans in front and 1 120mm Corsair in the back
PSU: Corsair CX750W

I've been having some issues and believe it might have to do with the PSU so I was thinking about getting a Seasonic Focus Plus 750w. Is this a good power supply? I've been dealing with coil whine for years so I want to know that I'm not going to have that problem anymore after dropping over a hundred bucks. If there's one that's better for not too much more I'm willing to spend a little extra. My PSU right now is a 750w which I know I probably don't use I in the future want to get some more maybe even better ram and an SSD but I don't know when so I always figured that getting a little more wattage than you need might not be a bad thing. What do you guys think, is it better if I get 650w? I just get nervous that one day I might upgrade something and it won't be enough but is having too much wattage bad too? Let me know your thoughts.

I think the Seasonic focus plus 750w would be great for your system and has plenty of power and longevity for using in a future upgraded system. It depends on what is making the coil whine - it may be your GPU and a new PSU might not help with that. You could get by fine with a 650w PSU, but unless there is a big price difference, the 750w is a good choice.

An SSD will also make your general experience a lot better. More RAM is probably not going to make much difference depending on what you use the system for. Current-gen systems use DDR4 so your DDR3 isn't going to carry over to a new system. Buying more DDR3 might be a waste.

I know that I don't have money for a new GPU and since my PSU isn't really good I should probably make that my upgrade for now. I heard about the Prime Ultra, do any of you guys know anything about it? My main thing is noise I am so sick of the noise my PSU makes so the Focus Plus will probably be fine but the Prime Ultra is supposed to be a little better but for $25 more, is it worth it?

I decided to pull the trigger on the Focus Plus Gold. Way better than what I have now for $105 and a $20 mail in rebate is a good deal in my book.
