Good SSD PCI match for AsRock 970 Extreme 4?

I have the above motherboard with an AMD FX 8350 8 core CPU, 64GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 950 and an absolutely ancient hard drive. I'm looking to buy an SSD for my games and OS and was thinking of the Samsung 960 EVO 500GB with 3200 MB/sek. Will this be a waste of money that causes a bottleneck in performance? What SSD would you recommend?

There's no place for M.2 SSD on that MB and it doesn't support BOOT from it on PCIe adapter. Just get a SATA SSD. this one: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/ssd-850-evo-2-5-sata-iii-500gb-mz-75e500b-am/ if you like Samsung.

Yes, even ordinary SSD would be few times faster than fastest HDD. I have that Samsung 960 Evo and doesn't feel any faster than my SATA SSDs.
