So my computer is dual 8 gig sticks to make it a 16 GB machine. Today it wouldn't show a display. The computer would turn on but no display. I took out a ram stick and booted up on the first try. Now I have done this before. I had this issue about 6 months ago, took out that ram stick and it booted up fine. Afterwords I shut it down, put the stick back in, and it booted up fine again. The machine worked with both sticks in happily ever after for 6 months. Today it did the same thing took out the stick and it worked. Since this is the second time it happened, I'm weary of trying that other stick again. Is that stick I took out trash or can it be re inserted?

Solution
I would test that stick out of machine, exchange it with the one on the motherboard right now and test boot system, then run MEMTESTX86 on it

comment: likely the issue isn't with your ram, I suspect your motherboard second slot is flakey, but you need to test ram first.
