GTX690 SLI issues on multiple monitors

I have this GTX690 since 4 years working perfect.

All this years I used only single monitor 22in . Yesterday I plugged in one additional monitor 17in which was lying idle to extend the displays. All went great.
Both monitors are connected on the DVI ports of card via DVI to VGA connectors.

But when I opened GPU-Z it says SLI Disabled.

In Nvidia control panel it says "Activate all displays" option selected.

When I select "Maximize 3d performance" other monitor goes off and SLI gets enabled.
My current setup is similar as below:

I played with settings around but no luck.

I will be gaming only on primary monitor.
But what I want is SLI enabled even on multiple monitor setup.

How to achieve that?

Solution
For multiple monitors(non surround setup) with SLI enabled the monitors need to be plugged into the A side. I would plug the Viewsonic into the the DVI-d port on the a side. I would also use a dual link cable as that would let you run that monitor at its 120Hz refresh rate.

The issue is the dvi port on card 2 is 24+1 pins while on card 1 its 24+5 pins.

So I only got dvi connectors of 24+5 pins hence could not test on card 2.

BTW are you sure if I connect all displays to single card sli should work fine?

As rolli wrote, only the primary GPU's display outputs are enabled while SLI is on. There is nothing you can do about it other than connect all displays on the primary GPU. You'll have to use an active DVI or DisplayPort to VGA adapter to convert one of your digital-only ports to VGA. (Or replace one of your monitors with one that has a DVI or DP input.)

Ok thanks.

Now how are we suppose to read port number at the back side? On some forums they say plugin to dvi port 1 2 or 3 etc. How to exactly ascertain or read either horizontally or vertically which port is no 1 or 2 etc.

According to the pic in the original post the only port on the b side is the dvi port the Viewsonic is plugged into. So use the only other available DVI port.

Guys I first bought the dvi-d to vga connector but seems that was passive ones and active ones is too costly.

So bought this dvi-d to hdmi and it worked just perfect.:bounce:

Only difference is I have selected Auto option instead od any particular GPU A or B.
I think it should be Auto right??
