Solution
1) Two sticks means dual channel ram. Even if you need 2 x 4 Gb, it will perform significantly better than 1 single channel stick, especially on Ryzen. Also true to a lesser degree for Intel cpu's
2) Ram speed matters for Ryzen. It's ALL overpriced atm, but the difference between 2400 and 3000 speed is not very significant.
3) If you look on the mobo manufacturer's website, you will be able to find what they call a QVL list for ram.
this means Qualified Vendor List. These are ram kits that have been tested to run at their rated speed and timings on THAT motherboard.
Good ram is not cheap these days. So if you look on the mobo QVL list for 2 x 4 GB kits or 2 x 8 GB if you can afford it, you can literally copy and paste the...

Would take the Ryzen system 11/10 times. The extra 2 cores are extremely useful.

In any case the only thing I would change in these builds is the PSU. EVGA N1/W1 are both extremely low quality. A CX450M/550M would be a MUCH better option for your build.

The rest is fine otherwise.

@OP
What games are you planing to play? Are you planing to steam and render videos? Older titles benefit from high single core performance, newer ones from from more cores. It all depends on your use case.
And I agree with manddy123, swap the PSU!

Good ram is not cheap these days. So if you look on the mobo QVL list for 2 x 4 GB kits or 2 x 8 GB if you can afford it, you can literally copy and paste the part number in to Google or Newegg or whatever vendor you prefer to buy from, and get the prices.

Corsair,GSkill, and others make good stuff, and often you can get the exact same specs for less money if you don't get silly RGB and other frills that do absolutely nothing for performance.

Support list for that mobo. Look for 3000-3200 kits in the size you want, and see what prices and sales you can get.
Not linking a particular one, since that stuff changes all the time.
