HDD force shut down in DVD bay

So I just bought a SSD and I put it in my hard drive bay while the hard drive move to DVD using a caddy. I thought at first it was a good decision, but if I restart or shutdown my laptop, I can clearly hear the hard drive sound just like it is being force shutdown. Is there any suggestion or opinion, since I'm afraid that it could break the hard drive

I'm using a laptop, Asus X550JX :
- Intel i7 4720HQ
- nVidia GTX 950m
- 12GB DDR3 RAM
- HDD it's Toshiba, I don't quite know the model
- Samsung Evo 850 250GB

Well, since it's in a laptop, it doesn't use any cabling.
