I wounder if anyone here know how to configure on a Asus Prime Z370-A so that I get the stock frequence on i7 8700k? From the settings from start it overklocks the cpu and the volt can be near 1.4v.
I want the motherboard to use the stock frequence on 3.7Ghz and 4.7 GHz with turbo. I want the volt to be what Intel have set it on from the begining.

Turbo IS the stock behavior, but not to 5Ghz. Maximum single core turbo speed for your CPU is 4.7Ghz and there is nothing wrong with voltage up to 1.35v, maybe a bit higher.

If you have not updated the bios, that is the FIRST thing you want to do, but I would probably wait to do it, as all the Coffee lake motherboards will likely be getting brand new bios versions sometime during the next 7 days as Intel has just released brand new revised microcode for the spectre and meltdown vulnerabilities and the board partners should be implementing those releases soon.

Otherwise, I would not update to any version newer than December 2017, if you prefer to go ahead and update now. Knowing what bios version you currently have installed would...
Did you change the bios settings or did you previously overclock the CPU using some kind of utility?

If you did not make any changes, then it should already be at it's stock settings.

If you have played around with the settings previously and simply don't know how to put it back, you can reset the bios by removing the cmos battery from the motherboard for a few minutes then put it back and then go into the bios after restarting, and reset the default settings. Or you can just go into the bios and load the "optimal default" or "setup default" settings through the options in there.

I'd also check to see that you don't have an older bios version installed.

I read(dont find the forum post anyemore) that my motherboard has a setting from the beginning that boost the cpu.
If yuo do a benchmark Cpu-z it goes up to 5ghz and over 1,3v.

I havent change anything in the bios and if I reset to default it still is on the "turbo" setting.
