I realize there are so many similar threads to this one, which I have been reading in attempting to fix this problem. But nothing has worked and I feel completely defeated. So if anyone can help me figure out what's going on here, I would be eternally grateful.
I have a Dell T-5400 workstation with a 1TB HDD with Win10 on it. I installed an 256GB SSD, made a clone of Win10 with EaseUs, tried getting that to work for hours, then deleted it, made a new clone with Macrium Reflect, but no matter what I try, I can't get Windows to boot from the SSD.
At first the SSD wouldn't even show up in the boot order. I had to switch the BIOS configuration to AHCI, which then allowed me to actually select the SSD in the boot order. But despite all that, it keeps giving me a "selected boot drive not available" error. I've basically spent all day trying to figure this out now without much progress. I don't have a Win10 installation disk, and although I have a legit Win10, I didn't install it myself and don't know the product key, so a fresh reinstall isn't really an option for me. Is there any way to get this to work without a fresh Windows install?
