So here is what happen to my computer. I was trying to clean my computer like taking all of the dust out and accidentally bent my processors pin. I did try to put it back to the socket but my computer wont open anymore.

Now I'm planning on buying a new processor with a new motherboard and I keep thinking that do I need a new OS? And is everything will still work the way it was? I know that my motherboard still work maybe but I wanted to replace it to a new one since i broke the thing that lock the graphics card.

Please help thanks and sorry for my bad english.

OS systems come in two varieties, Full and OEM. Full OS software can be transferred from computer to computer and there is no issue there. OEM OS is meant to be only installed only on the original machine and is linked to the motherboard. If you have an OEM license you are not supposed to be able to change the motherboard. But since you have to replace the motherboard due to damage I believe that you can contact Microsoft and ask them for a variance. I have done this before and it was just a phone call.

Do keep in mind that regardless of licensing issues - Odds are the OS would not work anymore after you do the upgrade (as in, you wont be able to access your data!) You could just use a Live Linux distro (such as Linuxmint for instance) in order to copy your data elsewhere (I.E external hard drive)
