Build:
ASUS E3 pro gaming V5 mb
Intel i7 7700K LGA1151
Crucial ballistix DDR4 2x16GB 2400
Antec 900W Power supply
MSI GTX 960 gaming 4 GPU

Issue description:

This is a brand new build, all parts brand new and the GTX 960 confirmed as working on my other machine.

Computer powers on, solid continuous case LED, all fans working 100%, SB_PWR LED turns red and stays on.

During initialization, the CPU LED powers on for about 3 seconds, then turns off. Next, the DRAM LED does the same, then turns off. VGA and BOOT_DEVICE LEDs do not power on at all. No video signal from the GTX 960 at all, but its fans are powered and LEDs turn on. MB does not have on-board graphics. Computer does not shut itself off, but runs continuously until shutdown.

Any ideas if what the issue could be? Ive exhausted all troubleshooting ideas and all of the MB standoffs are properly installed.

I should also mention that i’ve attempted to start it with three completely different video cards, GTX 960, Quadro 2000, and an MSI GT 710. I’ve started it with each of these plugged into different slots, with different video cables, all video options (HDMI, VGA, DVI). I’ve tried clearing CMOS, reseating the CPU, different ram, using only one ram stick. Everything I can think of.

Oh...oh crap. Ok stabbing in the dark is a go. Lets check compatibility. Cpu and mobo are ok. Memory...hm. Crucial lists your memory as not compatible assuming this is your model number:

Double checking asus site...lists some crucial memory but not the one you linked. Can you double check the model number on your memory just so we're sure on this compatibility check?

Did you sort it out yet? I got the exact same motherboard on sale and have the exact same issue, tried three different video cards, gtx 1070, rx 580 and other cheap one with intel g4400 6th generation cpu and hyperx 2133mhz ram and still no post, everything turns on except the onboard leds that’s supposed to light up indicating if its vga, ram or cpu that’s preventing the system to boot up

I haven’t solved it, best I can figure is that the RAM i selected was not on the QVL and for some obscure reason, is incompatible. The other possible compatibility issue is the kaby lake processor, but its not likely. I have decided to use a different mb because this one is far too picky about its compatible components. Either that or it’s just a defective board, which wouldnt suprise me with ASUS.
