Will Corsair H55 Intel CPU Cooler work with LGA 1151 New 8th Gen CPU Boards?

Hello folks,

I upgrading my pc, but realised that my Corsair H55 hydro series Quite intel cpu cooler doesn't say anything about compatibility with LGA 1151 8th gen CPU motherboards and Chipset despite it's an old cpu cooler. It compatible with LGA 1155, 1156,, 1366, and 2011 on the Intel side. Does this mean i need to go buy me a new water cooler?

Maybe, maybe not. I know they still sell the H55 so maybe there's a bracket you could get that would allow you to use it on an 1151 board. If I remember right, the 1155 and 1151 are the same bolt hole patterns so they're compatible cooler wise, but you might want to google that, it's been a long day.

If you have the mounting bracket for the 1155 yes it will work.

Intel hasn't changed its cooler mounting bracket for years. The only reason your H55 doesn't mention compatibility is because those CPUs weren't out when the H55 was new, but it will fit.

I spoke with corsair tech. rep. and said it will fit. Funny how the bracket that came with it and the one I used said 1156 and it fit for the 1155 motherboard I used before. I wont worry about this anymore, thanks for your help guys.
