Low RAM stock and price dips

I have been wondering what is with the prices on ram. I am almost done my gaming pc, and I needed 16 gigabytes of ram. Tried buying HYPERX FURY (4x4). After I ordered the ram, it was back ordered and I have been waiting for a few weeks. When will the ram stock normalize?

It is very doubtful that the price of DDR4 will return to somewhat sane levels until new fabs open and not only begin production, but actually begin increasing delivery of memory chips to memory module manufacturers. That is not supposed to happen until the end of 2018, at the earliest. It's always possible that one or more DRAM manufacturers could ramp up current production, but word is that none of them have plans to do so, so it is unlikely but not impossible.
