want to purchase external hard drive to save my pc (BSOD)

C drive only at 75% (don't know what caused failure) can it be replaced with an external drive? Do not want to lose my pc.

Do I understand right that you have a desktop computer and a hard drive failure? Why are you against an internal drive? Do you need help buying a new drive an replacing the old? Do you need help to save data from your old drive? How may the community help you?
