I am building a desktop computer at my house and i would like to be able to set it up so that my family members in the house can backup their data to its secondary drive (2tb hdd). In addition i would like extended family members who live elsewhere to be able to backup their files to the drive as well. Is this possible?

Solution
two routes for you. for any pc on your home network turn on file sharing and print sharing. and set up a home network. when you have the funds buy an network storage device and fill it with a few drives. your family them can use it as backup storage without infecting your new pc. in till you do you can set up a shared network drive/folder on the new pc for backups. to save you self from pulling hair and filling the drive loot at 3 party pc backup software. ones that make one full backup and then just back up changed files on the networked storage drive. it also back up to storage drive at night when no ones using the pc and slowing it down. for outside family look at cloud storage. have one family storage drive on the web that you can...
